A new chapter.

Shelf Improvement began in 2018 on Tinyletter, a very simple (and free) email platform, and when Tinyletter shut down I moved to Substack, because it was also free. But!! I do not like Substack - it is more social media than I want. More Twitter-y, Facebook home-page-ish. All I really want is to write emails. I love writing Shelf Improvement, but I was enjoying it less and less while using Substack, and so I am making some changes.

I don’t like the way paid subscriptions work on Substack, so Shelf Improvement is going back to being fully free, while also being hosted on a platform I pay to use. This is probably the scarier part of the decision! If you have ever had a paid subscription or donated via Ko-fi, thank you. You have made this exciting and scary thing doable. My Ko-fi is still here, so if you’re able to donate a couple of quid, you’ll keep Shelf Improvement going and I will be very grateful. If you like Shelf Improvement and are able to tell a friend, that makes a world of difference - arguably the same amount, if not more, than a couple of quid.

Thank you for reading!
